The national beverage of Brazil, originally created as a treatment for Spanish flu, is composed of cachaca (a spirit distilled from sugar cane) or white rum/vodka, brown sugar, and lime juice.

The national beverage of Mexico, tequila, is often mistakenly confused with the Caipirinha. Both drinks contain lime and sugar cane, but the Mexican drink has traces of mezcal (a type of smoky-flavored liquor). It’s hard to go wrong combining any white rum with lime juice and sugar.
