How to Show Google Reviews on Your Elementor Website (Step-by-Step)

If you’re looking to display Google Reviews on your Elementor website, the smartest and most reliable way is by using Unlimited Elements. Unlike other tools that rely on scraping (which can break or violate Google’s terms), Unlimited Elements uses the official Google Places API, ensuring long-term stability and compliance.

In this article, we’ll walk you through everything — from getting your Google API key to customizing the widget on your site. Let’s dive in and get your glowing reviews live on your website!

Step 1: Create Your Google Maps JavaScript API Key

To fetch your Google Reviews, you’ll need to create a Google Maps JavaScript API key via the Google Cloud Console. This key connects your site to Google’s servers in a secure and official way.

🧠 A couple of important things most people overlook:

  • 💳 You must set up a billing account in Google Cloud.
Even though you likely won’t be charged (Google gives $200 of free usage monthly, which covers most websites), the billing setup is required to activate the API.

  • 🔒 Restrict your API key to your website domain (e.g. yourdomain.com).
This ensures others can’t use your key and cause unexpected usage charges or errors.

If something doesn’t work later on, these two steps are the first things to double-check.

🔧 How to Create Your API Key:

  1. Go to https://console.cloud.google.com/

  2. Create a new project (or select an existing one).

  3. Go to APIs & Services → Library, search for Maps JavaScript API, and click Enable.

  4. Then go to APIs & Services → Credentials, click + Create Credentials → API key.

  5. Copy your new key.

  6. Click the key to edit it and:

    • Under Application restrictions, choose “HTTP referrers” and enter your site domain.

    • Under API restrictions, limit usage to “Maps JavaScript API”.

💡 And remember: Google’s API only provides access to the 5 most recent reviews — this is a platform limitation.

Step 2: Install Unlimited Elements and Choose a Review Widget

To display Google Reviews on your Elementor site, you’ll need the Pro version of Unlimited Elements. This gives you access to the dynamic repeater widgets that can pull and display your Google Reviews.

🔧 Here’s what to do:

  1. Go to your WordPress dashboard → PluginsAdd New.
Search for Unlimited Elements for Elementor, install it, and activate it.

  2. Upgrade to the Pro version if you haven’t already (you’ll need this to use dynamic widgets).

  3. Open the Unlimited Elements Widget Library inside your WordPress admin panel.

  4. In the search bar, look for one of these recommended widgets:

    • Review Carousel

    • Testimonial Grid

    • Testimonial Carousel

  5. Click Install on the widget you want to use.

These widgets are all fully customizable and built to work with dynamic content, making them perfect for showing live Google Reviews on your Elementor pages.

Step 3: Add Your Google API Key to Unlimited Elements

Once your API key is ready, the next step is to connect it to Unlimited Elements so the widget can pull your Google Reviews.

🔧 Here’s how:

  1. In your WordPress dashboard, go to
    Unlimited Elements → Integrations

  2. Find the field labeled Google API Key

  3. Paste your API key into the field and click Save

That’s it — the plugin is now securely connected to your Google account and ready to fetch your reviews.

Step 4: Place the Widget and Connect to Google Reviews

Now that your API key is set up, it’s time to add the widget to your page and connect it to the Google Reviews API.

🖱 Here’s what to do:

  1. Edit your page with Elementor

  2. Drag the widget you installed earlier (e.g. Review Carousel, Testimonial Grid, or Testimonial Carousel) onto your page

  3. In the widget settings panel, scroll to the Item Source dropdown
→ Set it to API Integrations

  4. A new option will appear: API Type
    → Select Google Reviews

Step 5: Get Your Google Place ID

To tell Google which business’s reviews to fetch, you’ll need your Google Place ID — a unique identifier for your location.

🔍 How to find it:

  1. Go to the official Place ID Finder tool:

  2. Use the map and search bar to find your business

  3. Click on your business name on the map — your Place ID will appear below

📥 Where to enter it:

  • Return to the widget settings in Elementor

  • Scroll to the Google Place ID field

  • Paste your Place ID there

Step 6: Map the Review Data to the Widget Fields

Now that the widget is connected to your Google API and Place ID, you need to tell it which parts of the review data to display where.

In the widget settings (under the Item Field Name sections), enter the following field names based on the Google Reviews data:

  • text – for the review content

  • author_name – for the reviewer’s name

  • author_photo – for the reviewer’s profile picture

  • date – if you want to show the date of the review

  • rating – if your widget supports dynamic star ratings

These fields come directly from the Google API response and must be typed exactly as shown. Once assigned, your widget will dynamically show real user reviews pulled from Google — clean, reliable, and fully automated.

🎯 Final Thoughts

Showing your Google Reviews on your Elementor website is one of the best ways to build trust and boost conversions. By using Unlimited Elements with the official Google Maps JavaScript API, you’re doing it the right way — with accurate, real-time data and full design flexibility.

If anything doesn’t work, double-check your billing setup, domain restrictions, and Place ID. Those are the most common trouble spots.

Now go show off those 5-star reviews!
