One of the inmates on Death Row is a black man accused of child murder and rape, but he has a mysterious gift that affects the lives of the guards who watch over him. He can see the future, and although he never speaks a word, his predictions always come true. When one of the guards discovers this truth, he is forced to confront his own prejudice as well as the dark secrets surrounding the death penalty. Ultimately, he must decide if justice has been served or if it is time for a new approach to punishment.
