Despite the allure of drugs and the influence of friends, Renton attempts to clean up and leave the Edinburgh drug scene. He struggles with withdrawal symptoms and the temptation to relapse but ultimately decides to start a new life away from drugs and his old friends. Though it is a difficult journey, Renton realizes that his health and happiness are worth more than the temporary high of drugs. He seeks help from a support group and enrolls in a rehabilitation program to overcome his addiction. With the support of his family and newfound friends, Renton is able to rebuild his life and rediscover his passion for music.
