Ingredients
- 4 slices of bread
- 2 large eggs
- ½ cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon (optional)
- 1 tbsp sugar (optional)
- pinch of salt
- 1 tbsp butter or oil (for cooking)
Instructions
Prepare the custard
In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, sugar, and a pinch of salt until smooth.
Dip the bread
Soak each slice of bread in the custard mixture for about 10–15 seconds per side. Don’t let it get too soggy.
Cook
Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat. Place soaked bread slices in the pan and cook 2–3 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through.
Serve Hot
Serve hot with maple syrup, powdered sugar, fresh berries, or your favorite toppings.
