This step-by-step guide will show you how to add a dynamic AJAX Search feature to your WordPress site using the Unlimited Elements Blocks Library. The AJAX Search block is highly flexible, perfect for instantly displaying live search results without page reloads, greatly improving user experience, and works directly inside the native WordPress block editor (Gutenberg) – no coding required.
Click Download, then in your WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin and upload the ZIP file.
Click Install Now and then Activate to enable the plugin.
From your WordPress dashboard, go to Unlimited Elements → Blocks Library.
This is where all available blocks are listed and managed.
Use the search bar at the top right and type “AJAX Search”.
The AJAX Search block will appear in the results list.
Hover over the AJAX Search block and click Install.
This adds the block to your available options in the editor.
Open any page or post using the WordPress block editor.
Click the (+) Add Block button, search for “AJAX Search”, and insert it into the page.
Once added, select the AJAX Search block and use the settings panel on the right. Adjust the Query Source to define what content is searchable, choose the Minimum Characters and Number of Results, and control the visibility of the Featured Image, Title, and Excerpt in the live results. Customize the Styling for the Input Field, Search Button, and Results Dropdown to create a functional, visually appealing search experience that fits your site’s design.
