This step-by-step guide will show you how to add a dynamic Alphabet Filter (A-Z) to your WordPress site using the Unlimited Elements Blocks Library. The Alphabet Filter block is highly flexible, perfect for allowing users to filter a list or grid of posts, products, or directories by the first letter of the item's title, enhancing content discovery, and works directly inside the native WordPress block editor (Gutenberg) – no coding required.
Click Download, then in your WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin and upload the ZIP file.
Click Install Now and then Activate to enable the plugin.
From your WordPress dashboard, go to Unlimited Elements → Blocks Library.
This is where all available blocks are listed and managed.
Use the search bar at the top right and type “Alphabet Filter”.
The Alphabet Filter block will appear in the results list.
Hover over the Alphabet Filter block and click Install.
This adds the block to your available options in the editor.
Open any page or post using the WordPress block editor.
Click the (+) Add Block button, search for “Alphabet Filter”, and insert it into the page.
Once added, select the Alphabet Filter block and use the settings panel on the right. Adjust the Target Widget Name to connect the filter to your post content, choose the Alphabet Set and Case Sensitivity, and control the visibility of the “Show All” Button and Inactive Letters. Customize the Styling for the Letter Buttons (Normal, Hover, and Active states), Typography, and Spacing to create a functional, visually appealing content filtering system that fits your site’s design.
