This step-by-step guide will show you how to add a dynamic Search Filter to your WordPress site using the Unlimited Elements Blocks Library. The Search Filter block is highly flexible, perfect for allowing users to find specific content within a displayed grid or list using an AJAX-powered search bar, improving user experience, and works directly inside the native WordPress block editor (Gutenberg) – no coding required.
Click Download, then in your WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin and upload the ZIP file.
Click Install Now and then Activate to enable the plugin.
From your WordPress dashboard, go to Unlimited Elements → Blocks Library.
This is where all available blocks are listed and managed.
Use the search bar at the top right and type “Search Filter”.
The Search Filter block will appear in the results list.
Hover over the Search Filter block and click Install.
This adds the block to your available options in the editor.
Open any page or post using the WordPress block editor.
Click the (+) Add Block button, search for “Search Filter”, and insert it into the page.
Once added, select the Search Filter block and use the settings panel on the right. Adjust the Target Widget Name to connect the search bar to your content, choose the Minimum Characters and Delay Time for search execution, and control the Placeholder Text. Customize the Styling for the Input Field, Search Button, and Icon to create a functional, visually appealing content filtering system that fits your site’s design.
