This step-by-step guide will show you how to add a dynamic Select Dropdown Filter to your WordPress site using the Unlimited Elements Blocks Library. The Select Dropdown Filter block is highly flexible, perfect for allowing users to refine a list or grid of posts by selecting a single category or term from a space-saving menu, improving navigation, and works directly inside the native WordPress block editor (Gutenberg) – no coding required.
Click Download, then in your WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin and upload the ZIP file.
Click Install Now and then Activate to enable the plugin.
From your WordPress dashboard, go to Unlimited Elements → Blocks Library.
This is where all available blocks are listed and managed.
Use the search bar at the top right and type “Select Dropdown Filter”.
The Select Dropdown Filter block will appear in the results list.
Hover over the Select Dropdown Filter block and click Install.
This adds the block to your available options in the editor.
Open any page or post using the WordPress block editor.
Click the (+) Add Block button, search for “Select Dropdown Filter”, and insert it into the page.
Once added, select the Select Dropdown Filter block and use the settings panel on the right. Adjust the Taxonomy Source and Advanced Filters to define the terms for filtering, choose the Target Widget Name for connection, and control the visibility of the “All” Option and Placeholder Text. Customize the Styling for the Dropdown Field, Option Text, and Dropdown Arrow to create a functional, visually appealing content refinement system that fits your site’s design.
