Riley, a young girl recently transferred from the Midwest to San Francisco, finds her feelings (joy, fear, anger, disgust, and sadness) at odds with one another as she tries to adjust to her new home. Inside Out is a 2015 animated film produced by Pixar Animation Studios. The movie takes place inside the mind of an 11-year-old girl named Riley and follows the emotional journey of her five core emotions: Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust. When Riley’s family moves to a new city, Joy (voiced by Amy Poehler) and Sadness (voiced by Phyllis Smith) are accidentally swept away from their control center and must find their way back while navigating the other emotions and the different parts of Riley’s mind.
