Then follow these steps:

Go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.

Choose the zip file you downloaded, upload, and then click Activate.

Once activated, you’ll need to enter your license key.

Now that you have the plugin installed, it’s time to start creating your first Age Verification Popup.

Step #2: Adding the Age Verification widget to your Elementor website

To create an Age Verification Popup you need to install the Age Verification widget from the Unlimited Elements Widget library.

Go to Unlimited Elements in the WordPress Dashboard

Search for the "Age Verification"

Hover over the widget and click install

Then, in the Elementor editor, Find the Age Verification widget and drag it to the desired part of your page.

Step #3: Configure the Age Verification Widget

Verification Method

Users can verify their age using one of the following methods: buttons, date of birth, or year of birth.

Minimum Age

Administrators can set the minimum age requirement to either 18, 21, or a custom value.

Underage Action

In case of underage users attempting to access restricted content, administrators can choose between displaying a message or redirecting them to a specific URL.

Underage Action Message

Enables the display of a customizable message to inform underage users that they must meet the legal age requirement to access restricted content.

Popup Source

Allows users to select the source for creating the popup, including a Text Editor, an Elementor Template, or an Element ID.

Step #4: Configure the Trigger

The “Trigger” setting determines when the popup is displayed and offers four options:

On Page Load

The popup appears immediately when the webpage is loaded.

On Scroll

The popup is triggered when the user scrolls to a specified point on the webpage.

On Page Exit Intent

The popup is displayed when the user's mouse cursor moves towards exiting the page, indicating an intention to leave.

On Hash

The popup appears when the URL of the webpage contains a specific hashtag or anchor identifier.

Wrapping it Up!

Adding an age verification popup to your Elementor website is important for a variety of reasons. For one, it ensures that underage users are not exposed to content or products that are not appropriate for their age. This is particularly crucial for websites that deal with alcohol, tobacco, gambling, and adult content.

Not only does an age gate popup protect minors from accessing potentially harmful content, but it also helps you comply with legal regulations. For instance, many countries have strict laws regarding the promotion and sale of alcohol and tobacco products to minors. By adding an age verification popup, you can demonstrate your commitment to following these laws and prevent any potential legal issues.
