What we do?
We are provides FREE, CONFIDENTIAL, IMPARTIAL ADVICE and support on matters relating to children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The service is offered to parents and carers of children and young people aged between 0 and 25 years old.
Why we are here?
We provide unbiased information and advice about the local authority’s policies and procedures and about the policy and practice in local schools and other settings. We do not give priority to any particular impairment, disability or special educational need, nor do we campaign for any particular approach to education.
From where we come?
WE have a freephone telephone helpline 0800 158 3603 which is available Monday to Friday 9.00 am – 5.00 pm all year round (24hr voicemail service). Callers who are using a mobile phone can dial 01452 427566 or 01452 427567 as an alternative.

Who we are?
Special Educational Needs and Disability Information, Advice and Support Service. We offer free, confidential and impartial information, advice and support to parents and carers of young people aged 0-25 with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND) as well as young people themselves. We were formerly called the “Rutland Information Advice and Support Service” (RIASS).
How we can help?
Education, Health and Care Plan- A good EHC Plan is one that is clear about the SEN and / or disability that relate to an individual child or young person’s learning and development, the outcomes they would like to achieve and the provision needed to achieve those outcomes.
