This was my grandma’s apple pie recipe. I’ve never seen another like it. It will always be my favorite, and it has taken first prize at several local competitions. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
Ingredients:
1 cup sugar 3/4 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg 2 tablespoons flour Dash of lemon juice 8-10 medium apples (I usually use a mixture of Granny Smith and Golden Delicious) Pie crust for a double crust pie – I used Pillsbury.
Directions:
In a large bowl, stir together the sugar, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, flour and lemon juice. Peel and slice the apples into about 1/4″ slices. Add the apples to the mixture and mix well. Pour into a 9×13 pan that has been greased with butter or cooking spray.
